Our History
Ballarat Vibrated Concrete Industries now simply known as BVCI commenced operations in Ballarat in 1967. Originally established by the Coxall family to manufacture pre-cast bricks in a small shed located at Buninyong, the development and growth of the Company in to Septic Tanks, necessitated a move to the current site at Carngham Road Ballarat, which now includes a large pre-cast concrete manufacturing facility, and a rotational moulding plastics production plant where the Plastek WaterTanks and Telecommunications/Electrical pits are manufactured. This Carngham Road facility also has a large warehousing and distribution centre where product is despatched throughout Australia.
In 2007 BVCI expanded manufacturing and distribution operations in to Queensland with the development of the Rocklea pre-cast concrete facility, and also development of distribution warehousing in Wetherill Park (Sydney) New South Wales in 2009.
BVCI is today a member of the Strongform Group of Companies that provides a broad based opportunity to manufacture plastic Water Tanks and Telecommunications/Electrical pits in several plastics rotational mould locations from Innisfail (North Queensland), Brisbane (Queensland), Fountaindale (New South Wales) and Ballarat (Victoria) which now provides a broad capability to service the growing telecommunications industry requirements including the National Broadband (NBN).
BVCI today is a major supplier of cable pit and pit cover products to the Telecommunications, Electrical and Communications industries with products specifically for all telecommunications providers, Defence, Rail, Roads, Mining, Air, Energy and Sea Port facilities. BVCI are also major suppliers in Victoria of Septic Tanks and Sewerage Treatment plants for domestic use, as well as Tradewaste products specialising in grease arrestors, oil and petrol separators, acid neutralising traps, and silt traps. BVCI also provide a broad range of cast iron and galvanised steel access covers to complement the wide range of electrical/communications cable pits, stormwater, and tradewaste pits manufactured.
BVCI are recognised for the capability to design and manufacture large HV and LV Cable Pits and other special pit designs for pump housing and water valve installations as required by local Authorities. BVCI have an experience design team to develop these pits to meet the needs of industry and the manufacturing expertise to produce what was previously developed on site with in-situ pours, a method still used but without the benefits of QA in manufacturing such large infrastructure products.
